Personal Note:
It’s been a true delight and privilege to be part of telling Playa Forti Restaurant’s story. As someone born and raised on Curaçao, weaving the spirit of Westpunt into this project felt deeply personal. I carry a profound love for this island, and having the chance to help preserve and share a piece of its history was an honor I’ll always cherish.

The Project:
​When the owner first approached me, she had a clear vision. She wanted a website that didn’t just describe a restaurant, but told a story - her family’s story, the spirit of Westpunt, and the beauty of Playa Forti itself. With a few old texts, some family history, and her passion, I helped her turn fragments into a flowing narrative.

From homepage to menu, every word was shaped to reflect that heartfelt vision - blending history, community, and Curaçao’s natural charm into one welcoming voice.

This is more than just rewriting a book - it’s giving students a way in. A chance to understand, explore, and enjoy stories they may have otherwise been too exhausted or overwhelmed to read.

Personal Note: 
I’ve had the chance to interact with some of these students - bright, curious, and in real need of support. What baffles me is how often their questions go unheard. Questions about the world, about life, about what they’re reading or seeing in the news. They deserve answers, guidance, and conversation. So, if this work gives them even a small sense of clarity or confidence, then it’s worth every word.
The Project:
The owner of Open Idea Solutions, a remedial teacher for High School Math and Physics, approached me with a curious question: Would I be willing to create book summaries on demand for his students?

Every schoolyear, he noted the same issue. Students were swamped with assignments, juggling exams, essays, and projects across all subjects. By the time they reached their reading list, there was little energy - or motivation - left. And beyond that, they were being asked to tackle complex or emotionally heavy novels without support, discussion, or context. They were practically drowning. 

I got to work and created something that not only summarizes the book, but also helps uncover its deeper messages - and encourages students to form their own opinions. For them, it felt heaven-sent.
